Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will take place this year in Brussels, on October 30-31 & November 1st
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to show fairly encouraging signs of improvement across Europe, Spirits Selection confirms that it will go ahead in Brussels on October 30-31 & November 1st.
The 21st Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was due to be held in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia, from 18 to 21 August. However, the pandemic situation in South America is still worrying. Relocating the competition to Brussels gives us more flexibility while easing logistical constraints, allowing us to guarantee that entries can be assessed without compromising judging procedures.
As borders within Europe are set to gradually open across the region, the competition’s organisers are confident that they are in a position to organise the tasting sessions in the best possible conditions. The team’s mission now is to arrange for panel members to travel to Brussels.
“We will of course implement strict hygiene rules to ensure the tastings run smoothly and special efforts will be made to secure media coverage for the event and widespread exposure for the results”, says Thierry Heins, Director of Spirits Selection.
The date for registration and shipment of bottles has been extended until September 30, 2020.
Our various entry reception platforms remain open and producers are invited to consult our website where they will find answers to any questions they may have.
About the competition:
Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is an international touring competition with over 1,700 spirits entered by producers and judged by a panel of experts. Our seasoned judges from across the globe taste spirits with a single-minded objective, and that is to identify spirits of irreproachable quality, without being influenced by the label or an appellation’s prestige. The competition is one of the most prominent international events of its kind.
