It has been postponed due to events related to the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Europe and worldwide, along with travel restrictions resulting from this health emergency. Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is an international event where nearly 100 people come together over several days, and we could not put our judges’ and staff’s health at risk.

Provided the situation improves, Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will be relocated to Brussels, Belgium, during the autumn of 2020. When we return to a degree of normality, we will announce the judging dates.

The 21st Spirits Selection was due to be held in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia, from 18 to 21 August. The District of Barranquilla has taken strict measures to protect everyone living within its jurisdiction, one of which is a ban on public or private events of any kind with a capacity of more than 50 people, which it believes will continue through to the end of this year.

At Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, we have been proactively adapting to the situation and working to develop the best way to put our customers, experts and team first.

The tasting sessions will be organised with the same professionalism and high standards as every other year. A panel of professional tasters will judge the spirits to the best of their abilities in a way that respects the work of the producers. If needed, and depending on measures taken by European governments, we will run smaller and more frequent judging sessions, giving us a degree of flexibility and avoiding large gatherings, instead of running the competition over 3 days.

We will not allow our tasting procedures to be compromised.

The results will be published five days after the tasting sessions, on the website www.spiritsselection.com.

We would recommend you complete your entry and make the payment. When we return to a degree of normality, we will announce the new judging dates.

We are still open for entries and the deadline for registration and sending entries has been extended to August 31, 2020.
